Technical inspection and maintenance of shelving
Security and regulatory compliance for the integrity of your warehouse
The inspection audit is an intervention required by the standard UNI EN 15635 (Steel Static Storage Systems-Use and Maintenance of Storage Equipment) since metal racks are to be considered work equipment for all purposes within the meaning of the Legislative Decree 81/08. Verification by an expert technician includes an assessment of the condition of the warehouse racks. The standard UNI EN 15635 also states that the user of the warehouse is responsible for having the technical inspection performed at least once a year. In the event that the state of the racking is found not to be in compliance, our technical department will perform the estimate for the restoration of damaged materials. Only after restoration of the damaged materials will the suitability for use of the warehouse be issued with certification to be shown in case of request from the competent authorities.
THE NORMATIVE.
The responsibility of the user
The purpose of this standard is to minimize risks and achieve safer warehouse operation by preventing damage to the racking structure.
We take up some of the main points of Noma UNI EN 15635:
- As originally reported, only an attested and certified Technician can conduct the appropriate warehouse inspection (The inspection cannot exceed intervals greater than 12 months).
- At the end of the inspection, a written report is prepared with reports of damage and proposed replacements to be made to make it suitable
- Within the warehouse, flow rate signs should be clearly visible so that it is possible to check whether the characteristics of the plant are correct or if they have been altered
- Repairs of damaged elements cannot be carried out unless expressly authorized by the storage facility supplier.
- The company or enterprise using the facility is required to appoint a person responsible for storage equipment safety (PRSES).
