A supermarket inside a theater. This is the artwork conceived by artist Anna Scalfi Eghenter that allowed the shelf SIDAC Euroscacco to have a place of honor at the Santa Chiara Theater in Trent.
Taking advantage of the temporary forced closure of cultural venues due to anti-contagious measures, the idea was to install a real supermarket inside Trento's historic Italian-style theater.
A temporary measure-as the very title of the art installation Interim Measure states-whose main purpose was to allow people to enjoy a cultural venue that would otherwise have been closed as it was considered a nonessential service. The public therefore, unable to access the theater as spectators, was able to enjoy it as a user of a work of art, a unicum that transforms a historic artistic space into a place of commerce, thus legitimizing its use.
